#HappyHourClub: The Franklin - a cocktail featuring Art in the Age's Rhubarb Tea

Meet the latest cocktail from #happyhourclub: The Franklin—a mix of green juice and sweet spirit by Art in the Age, Rhubarb Tea.

Why is it called The Franklin? Well as the Universe would have it, the back story to Art in the Age's Rhubarb Tea tells the story of the master creator being a super fan of this perennial vegetable. Plus, this cocktail creation occured in Franklin Village, a neighborhood located near the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. How perfect is that?

Earlier this month, I met up with #myunicornlife partner-in-crime, Kelsey Fugere to collaborate on a cocktail. Since the day was early, we didn't want anything heavy. Naturally, we gravitated to lush greens, bright blood oranges and blushing red pears for our juice base. The fruit and veggies were so beautiful, it seemed as if they fell from the heavens. Next, it was time for the booze and another mixer. To help add a little bubbly to our drink, we decided Perrier since it's light and refreshing. Coupled with the organically certified Rhubarb Tea from Pennsylvania company, Art in the Age, it was the perfect cocktail to start the weekend. Here's how to create this magical drink all on your own:

Ingredients:

  • English Cucumbers
  • Blood Oranges
  • Pears
  • Mint for garnish
  • Ice
  • Perrier
  • Art in the Age's Spirit: Rhubarb Tea

Directions:
Juice your choice of veggies and fruit. We used our Vitamix to get our greens and fruits pureed. For this batch, we used English cucumbers, blood oranges (about 1/4 cup of juice), pears and dash of mint. To make it extra fancy, wrap your ice cubes with thinly sliced cucumbers. Now pour 1 shot of Art in the Age into your glass. Next mixed in about 1/2 cup of green juice (if you prefer it greener, add more) and then grab your Perrier and fill the glass to the brim. Add a slice of pear for garnish.

Cheers!
