#HappyHourClub 22 / White Whiskey Sea Salt Lemonade
Sitting on the rooftop in San Diego with Mom and getting way too much sun. To cool off, I whipped us up a White Whiskey Sea Salt Lemonade. This recipe is based on a random post I discovered via pinterest a few months ago from VillageVoice. Luckily I traveled with a few of the infusions I made in LA. Mom's been eager to see this in person. The preserved lemons are amazing. There's no way I'm going back to regular lemonade now. Ingredients:
- 8 lemons
- 2 tablespoons sea salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 bottle of White Whiskey (I used High West Silver Western Oat Whiskey)
For the lemonade (via VillageVoice)
Cut the lemons into eighths, and in a bowl, toss with salt and sugar. Place the lemons in a mason jar for one to four weeks. In a large pitcher, combine the preserved lemons with one gallon of filtered water. Adjust with more lemon juice, sugar, salt, or water, to taste.
For the cocktail:
- 1 ounce of White Whiskey
- 2 ounces of Sea Salt Lemonade
Add white whiskey and sea salt lemonade into a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously. Pour the contents into a Tom Collins glass filled with ice. Cheers!
