#HappyHourClub 07 / Cocktails & Dreams
Happy Sunday! Today marks the 7th day of my cocktail challenge and it's one for the books. 30 days of cocktails...seriously, that's work! So to end this first week of cocktail craziness, I wanted to salute my favorite Scientologist, Tom Cruise. Beck, you come in second. Before his Days of Thunder and before our days of "mixologists", Brian Flanagan was all about Elizabeth Shue, Kokomo and making some panties fly with his impressive match sliding skills and bartending tricks. Remember this scene?
Cocktails & Dreams comes from the iconic classic neon sign from the movie Cocktail. The classic movie featuring Tom Cruise as one smooth talking bartender. Well, since I adore the 80s and can’t get enough of Mr. Cruise’s antics, I decided this famous Scientologist needed a drink all his own. Plus, it gave me the perfect excuse for a new cassette tape. Naturally, it only seemed right to base this cocktail off a Tom Collins with a couple little quirky tweaks. Here's to Flanagan and the game's not over yet!

Ingredients:
- Ting (Jamaican soda)
- 2 oz Lavender infused gin
- 1 teaspoon of Agave syrup
- Blue rock sugar for rim (purchase at specialty stores)
- 1/2 oz of fresh lemon juice
- Lemon for garnish
Instructions:
First, let’s prep the glass with that electric blue rock sugar. Slice up your lemon and rub the juicy side of the wedge along the lip of your Collins glass or up your game with tiki glassware like the one above I got from Tawas Trading Co featuring wood veneer. Love that shop! Now roll the outer edge of the glass until fully coated. Doesn’t that look totally awesome? Remember that lavender infused gin you made for By Train? Well, now it’s time to use it again. Combine the ingredients in your glass and fill glass with ice—cracked ice preferred. Stir briefly, top with Ting soda, garnish with a classic lemon circle, and serve with stirring rod. Cheers!
