By now you have realized that I love the obscure holidays and this particular #happyhourclub drink is all about Read a Book Day. While I have a ton of favorite books, nothing beats Harry Potter. J. K. Rowling did things right with this series and if you like audiobooks, Jim Dale knocks it out of the quidditch pitch every time. So are you ready to hit the books and try my version of Butter Beer? Better get your book and blanket ready for this cocktail is perfect for cooler nights and staying at home.
#HappyHourClub 06 / Butter Beer
Haven’t you ever wanted to try Butter Beer, the choice drink of Hogwarts’ students? Well, I know I did the first time I saw Harry Potter downing one with his pals Hermione and Ron Weasley. Sadly after much research I wasn’t cool with drinking a beverage featuring a spoonful of butter, and neither was my friend KC when we started whipping up this concoction. Don’t get us wrong, we love butter but just not with our beer. Who knows, tastes change and maybe one day we’ll favor it. For now though, this recipe we created calls for one special beer: enter Wells Banana Bread Beer. It’s got your sweet that butterscotch would provide and is filling like butter. My favorite part about this brew? It’s heartwarming, which I imagine is why all the kids at Hogwarts ran to The Three Broomsticks and The Hog’s Head for a pint. So where do you purchase Wells Banana Bread Beer? It can be found at Whole Foods, Costco Plus World Market or BevMo. Don’t forget to check your local liquor store too. It’s pretty popular.
Next, you’ll need cream soda. We went with a classic: Dr Brown’s Cream Soda. Slowly pour these 2 chilled bottles into your frosty beer mug, beer stein or boot and enjoy. The taste is delicious and pleasant. Oh, and don’t forget to garnish with some pint ale pints from Sugarina. They’re so amazing that Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes would be jealous. Cheers!
