Hello Magic: Prisms
Prisms. Beautiful objects filled with light. Magical tools for creating a new perspective. This is what comes to mind for me. These objects and designs have sparked curiosity and wonder about seeing things differently–a tool to help you look outside the box. They are also gift-givers of color. Clear and multidimensional, they respond to light with the gift of rainbows. How delightful! The unexpected and touch of magic that they bring to photography, video, actually, everyday life, help to expand our mind from the mundane to the extraordinary. Prisms are the go-to for creating Rainbow Magic–a full spectrum of color that connects to each chakra within our auras. This provides therapeutic effects by igniting rainbow energy, aka your charkas, so they are aligned from root to crown, and you can be your most attuned self. Pretty impressive, right?
Rewind back to my childhood, where we lived in this vintage, green brick house with a crystal chandelier in the dining room. Very out of place given this house was not something you'd see in Dynasty but more like the Brady Bunch or maybe more like Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead. The glass teardrop-shaped crystals were all I wanted so I could play and create rainbows and kaleidoscopes of my own. Sadly, this was not permitted as it was a rental, and I was about 6 or 7 years old. Luckily for me, I didn't have to have one to enjoy the splendor of those glassy drops. The rainbows it provided when the light hit just right was the most significant gift (and entertainment) of all. Soon we left that house but not before someone decided to give me one of those coveted trinkets. (Not sure why or who decided to place one of those magical baubles in my small hand, but I treasured it throughout my childhood.)
As time past, I didn't think of prisms that much. I got so wrapped up in being a teenager that I really didn't have time to discuss much of anything else if it wasn't about Nirvana or volleyball. The crazy thing is, though, that as I reflect upon prisms, I realized they were there all along, from Pink Floyd's Darkside of the Moon to the beautiful glass art pieces that my mom hung up in our home. These rainbow makers were always present regardless if I was or not. ;)
So, where do these kaleidoscopes of light reside in my life today? My home is filled with them. I give them as presents, and I have one hanging in my car (a real blessing when sitting in LA traffic). I tend to always bring one to photoshoots, though these are flat discs and not crystal baubles. Sometimes they become a prop (see photo below). These magic makers provide unexpected art and bliss to any video or photoshoot.
You don't have to be a "creative" to enjoy prisms. Anyone can dance with them, especially while spending more time at home due to the world's craziness (grrr...2020). Check out these prisms + rainbow makers to add a touch of magic to your life. Be sure to place them in areas where they can dance with the light. They'll inspire your creative energy and open up your third eye to new perspectives (not a guarantee, but I've definitely ridden that magic carpet ride). Prism rainbow light helps the energetics within your home by expanding joy and acceptance–definitely a must-have for 2020!
