#HAPPYHOURCLUB 10 / Mango Jalapeno Smash
Summer colds are no joke and our household is in the middle of one big battle with the sniffles. My weapon of choice comes in the form of spicy cocktails. Just because we're on lock down at Casa de Berrini doesn't mean we have to be total duds on the couch. Plus, it helps lighten the mood of being trap indoors. Enter cocktail Mango Jalapeno Smash—a mix of coconut water (perfect for hydration), orange juice (vitamin C), smashed mangoes (vitamins A + C) and jalapeno infused vodka. Having infusions in the house really does come in handy! Now, are you ready to take control over that cold?
#HAPPYHOURCLUB Cocktail: Mango Jalapeno Smash
Having a cold when it’s over 80 degrees outside sure does suck. I’m battling this major inconvenience with a spicy cocktail to help burn out the sniffles: meet the Mango Jalapeno Smash. Totally tired of plain orange juice, I found myself scouring the kitchen for something other than the same old stuff. Remember when grandma would suggest a shot of whiskey can help battle a cold? Well, I thought let’s bring a new tradition and change that shot to jalapeno infused vodka. Get ready because your glass of Tropicana will never be the same.
Ingredients
- Jalapeno Infused Vodka (see recipe here)
- 1 ripe mango
- Coconut water (regular)
- Orange Juice
Get your muddler ready! Add dices of mango to your cocktail shaker and muddle away. Once those dices are nice and smashed, add 1 oz of jalapeno infused vodka, 2 oz of orange juice, and 1 oz of coconut water to the shaker. Now that everything is ready, shake and strain into a glass. Note: if you’re a fan of pulp, add it all in. Next, fill glass with ice and garnish with slice of mango. Viola! You are now on the road to breathing through your nose again. Cheers!
