In honor of the 4th of July holiday weekend, I'll be posting a self-expression portrait every day until Sunday featuring the American flag that once belonged to my Granny J. It is one of my most treasured possessions. This flag flew proudly outside my grandmother's house every day for years. She was a proud American that supported the troops, reminded us kids how important it is that we remember those who fought for our freedom and not to take it for granted. While I'd like to think she'd enjoy these photos, she probably wouldn't like how the flag was being handled but sometimes for art sake you have to take a risk. Happy 4th of July everyone and enjoy the long weekend!
