ArtSpeak: Alique
My search continues for photographers and lately I've been on the hunt for female photographers focused on beauty. Mainly because I'm going back to my roots in the studio after abandoning the cosmetic world over 6 months ago. I still can't believe that my life used to revolve around branding and product development for items like wrinkle creams and eyeliners. Don't get me wrong, it was fun but there's more to life than a temporary fixes and a bottle of cream. But I do miss the photo shoots with gorgeous models and working alongside creatives like my friend, Kelsey Fugere. Luckily I can still pursue my passions and collaborations. While I'm prepping for a big beauty shoot next month, I stumbled upon Netherlands and New York based fashion photographer, Alique. My research usually consists of many clicks on the track pad or iphone, most likely started on instagram, pinterest and good old staples like Vogue (yes, I google everything). So what exactly struck a cord with me about Alique's work? Her portraiture. I am completely head over heels in love with her photo series for S Moda featuring style icon, Iris Apfel. See for yourself on her portfolio and instagram. Images via Alique's Portfolio and Trendland
