TGIF 6 / #aContributor, Shop Local, Tropico + More

TGIF 6 / #aContributor, Shop Local, Tropico + More December is in full gear and our special tree is decorated. Sam and I have exchanged our Christmas lists and now the shopping begins. If I'm not shopping local, I'm shopping online instead of going crazy with the rest of the world at the mall. Damn, remember those days when all you wanted to do was go hang out at the mall? Geez, what were we thinking? Come to think of it that probably had to do with the fact we were under 21. Anyway, this weekend is all about hitting up Unique LA, volunteering with our friends at Divine Design for Project Angel Food and enjoying a little mountain time for some R&R. Speaking of R&R check out these links below sure to inspire you:

READ THIS: For the last month I've been working on a secret project for We Are the Contributors and this week it was shared with the world. It was very exciting to see the tributes to the 100th Armory Show.

MAKE: These DIY Metallic Mason Jars from How Sweet It Is have our names written all over them. Luckily I scored a couple cans of Montana Gold this past Black Friday at Micheal's.

SHOPPING MOTIVATION I have all your holiday shopping inspiration for the quirky characters in your life. Want unique items? See my curated collections on Keep.com.

EAT: We love Leah  from Freutcake and this lite bite has us craving crostinis. Sam and I will be making these delicious snackables for the weekend: Browned Butter Sage Crostini

DRINK: I love connecting with people over instagram. Met so many wonderful people through that social media channel. This week, Becky from Little Siddall Studios and I have been sharing our love for eggnog and then we stumbled upon Kinfolk's post Recipes: Eggnog Six Ways from María Del Mar Sacasa and now the Christmas season will never be the same.

LOCAL: Go to Unique LA's holiday shopping event. It's the best place to buy local and support those doing their own thing. Something you know by now we are all about. While you are there don't miss out on some of our favorite makers like Klai and Satomi Studio for beautiful ceramics and jewelry. They are true originators.

Mark your calendars and save your cash for the Echo Park Craft Fair coming next weekend December 14-15. Some of our local favorites like Sunday Food and Memphis George will be there.

INSPIRATION See, you don't need a huge space to be creative. You can make shit happen if you try. Case in point: Jee Young Lee’s Incredible (Non-Photoshopped) Installations Created In Her Tiny Studio

MUST SEE: If you have Netflix, definitely check out Extreme Christmas Trees. It's Christmas on crack. Not kidding.

We love ourselves some Lana Del Rey and her short film is fabulous like her—dark, glamorous and a little uncomfortable. Watch Now: TROPICO

Since we are sharing our favorite weekly links, what are your must reads? Where do you shop for the holidays?
