Tried and Tested: Juicy Juice Recipes (Not the Kids Stuff)

When I'm not hitting Juice Served Here on the Westside I tend to visit the coffee shops more than I care to admit. So to battle this problem I invested in a Jack LaLanne Power Juicer, which by the way, I broke a week after I used it. Go figure but no reason to fret, I also managed to fix it. Moving on... It's been my mission to eat healthy and find the right time to hit the grocery store, I decided my next culinary journey would be to recreate 3 juice recipes, 2 of which I spotted on instagram and the other based on a birthday juice my friend Vanessa created for me (she's the coolest). With my reusable bags in hand, I entered the market ready to go overboard. Little did I know that I would be bringing home an abundance of veggies, fruits and amazing looking pumpkins that would cause the grocery cart to stop dead in its tracks—oh wait, that was the stupid magnetic lock system. My shopaholic ways even caused the cashier to take noticed and supply me with tips on what to do with my beet stems. Well, my friends I finally made it home and juiced the hell out of bounty that when Sam came home he asked how on earth am I going to bring all this juice with me to Camp Mighty. It's called a cooler and yes, it's coming to Palm Springs. Please note this is how I make these, I'm not saying I'm an expert. (see recipes after the jump) Spicy Goodness Juice

Juice 1: Spicy Goodness

1/3 of a pineapple (1 cup of chopped pineapple)

1 cucumber

1 red bell pepper (remove seeds)3 pieces of celery

1 orange (remove rind)

2 small lemons or 1 large (remove rind)

1/2 cup of cilantro (I'm not a fan of cilantro so I skipped this)

1 habanero (remove seeds) / you can add more depending upon how spicy you want it but habaneros are known for their heat so tread lightly!

Carrot Zing Juice 2: Carrot Zing! (I love this juice because it's got a zing to it from the ginger. Thanks Vanessa for sharing!)

4 medium apples

1 inch piece of ginger

Give Me A Beet Juice 3: Give Me a Beet!

1 large beet (you can use 2 small or 1...whatever your taste buds want)

1/3 piece of pineapple (1 cup)

1 lemon (peeled)

2 apples

1 inch piece of ginger
