Happy Hour Toast: Art In The Age's Rhubarb Tea

Art In The Age Rhubarb Tea By now you got the picture that Unique CAMP was an awesome experience but what you didn't know was they spoiled us. During the 4 day adventure, campers were provided happy hour with free flowing drinks thanks to Art in the Age and Proprietors team, Alex Day and David Kaplan. Each day we sampled different crafted cocktail creations by the masters featuring each day 1 of the 4 different types of craft spirits from Art in the Age: Rhubarb Tea, Sage, Snap and Root. Since Sam and I hadn't crossed paths with either of these groups prior to camp, this was right up our alley. We love to drink and discover new crafted cocktails hence taking Mixology 1o1 with Alex and David while we were there (ps: stirring a drink is more of an art than you might think). Now that we are back and happy hour is no longer provided for us, we have to make it happen. So, a couple of weeks ago we journeyed to Cap n' Cork on Hillhurst in Los Feliz to hunt down Rhubarb Tea for some taste testing of our own. Call it poor timing or luck but our purchase came right before the Three's Company birthday party. In the hustle and bustle of the party prepping, I left the beautiful bottle sitting on the bar. Silly mistake on my part, as half way through the party I see the bottle of Rhubarb Tea being passed around. Definitely a highlight of the night as guests buzzing about once the seductress hit their lips. Call it the Grinch in me but I had to get my hands on it before it all disappeared, for my true purpose of purchasing this gold colored elixir was to mix it with a good ice cold hefeweizen. Since CAMP I've been dreaming of how perfectly the two would pair together. So, as you see above, that small amount left in the bottle was all I had to play mix master with but don't cry for me just yet, it only took 2 oz to make my pairing perfect. Sam made it home before me and had a nice Shiner Hef waiting for me. Now that's what I call a good partner and a perfect happy hour toast. Cheers!
