welcome

to the colorful journal of Marissa Berrini, creative director, artist and curator living in Los Angeles. Launched in 2010, Marissa's online journal tells of adventures with her husband Sam, their fur kids, the occasional cocktail creation and lots of conversations with inspiring people. This blog serves to celebrate tiny victories, inspiration for those times you're stuck in a rut and bring together a community that wants more than a perfectly curated feed of eye candy. Sometimes you just got to throw it out there and see where it goes!

BritWeek hits Los Angeles with Little Boots @ The Echoplex and David Bowie on Display

BritWeek LA: Little Boots + Bowie Last night Sam and I made it to the Echoplex to see Little Boots rock out for BritWeek. Lucky for us we also caught Avan Lava and got our dance on. Talk about a flashback into early 90s fashion and some poppy disco beats. The mesh crop tops were out of control but in a good way. The band definitely left an impression with their sexual tension. Fast forward to Little Boots who stole the show with Every Night I say a Prayer. For being so tiny, that woman knows how to belt it out. For some reason I got a Stevie Nicks meets Blondie vibe from her last night – totally opposite from the Mondrain Sessions from 2 years ago (acoustic tends to do that). Well, if you missed out on last night's adventure there is still time to enjoy everything BritWeek has to offer like the retrospective of  legendary British photographer Brian Duffy. This exhibit features photos of living legend David Bowie enough said. Get to Mr Musichead Gallery before it closes on May 7th. For more events be sure to check in on BritWeek's twitter.
